David Clark, business broker / intermediary with BMI Mergers & Acquisitions has been recertified as a “Certified Business Intermediary” (CBI®) by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA).
To qualify for the initial certification, Clark had to:
- Successfully complete 68 credit hours of IBBA courses, passing each course exam with a score of at least 70%. Courses include ethics, financial analysis, business pricing and valuation, legal and tax classes.
- Agree to follow the IBBA’s Code of Ethics and submit personal references.
Recertification is necessary at the end of the initial three-year certification. The recertification requirements include:
- Attendance at a minimum one (1) IBBA or M&A conferences
- Completion of at least 48 hours of credits, 24 of which should be obtained through IBBA University courses
- The additional 24 hours can be acquired through
- Additional educational experiences thru other professional organizations such as the ABA or AICPA.
- Completion of M&A Source courses.
- Demonstrated professional competence in completed transactions.
It’s a significant achievement to receive the certification and to be recertified,” said Pat Appelhans, former president of IBBA. “It signifies that Clark is an accomplished business intermediary who will provide his clients with the highest standards of professional service.
