Paul Cocco

Paul held various sales and marketing leadership positions at The Hershey Company where his general management talents were put to work as the organization’s first director of three distinct departments: Sales, Marketing, and Business Planning. Paul has extensive experience with top retailers across consumer products channels including Food, Mass, Convenience, Drug, Dollar, Specialty stores, and Wholesalers. Paul represented The Hershey Company on several acquisition teams, including the group that purchased Mauna Loa Macadamia nuts for $130MM.

Paul Cocco began his relationship with BMI Mergers & Acquisitions as a business buyer. He and his wife grew the company they purchased from a struggling operation to Pennsylvania’s highest-volume battery recycler in just six years. Along the way, Paul streamlined the supply chain, developed strategic buying and selling relationships, and executed a product branding strategy which contributed to the company quadrupling in value. When it came time to sell the business, Paul and his wife chose to be represented by BMI due to their skill, professionalism, and ability to add value during the original purchase.

BMI appreciated Paul’s integrity and strategic thinking abilities and encouraged him to join the advisor team to help connect others to the same success as business buyers, owners, and sellers.

Paul also has a long history of supporting his community in various volunteering activities. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by The Milton Hershey School for building a nationally recognized honors course taught at the school in part by Hershey employees.

Paul has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing & Entrepreneurship from Baylor University. He leads our Raleigh office and resides in Pinehurst, North Carolina with his wife and two children.
